Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What does "spring-loaded zipper slider" mean?
The spring refers to the way the zipper pull is attached. On this slider, the zipper pull simply snaps into place over a small spring mechanism. This makes it easy to attach and detach the zipper pull.
What does "free-running" or "loose slider" mean?
These sliders glide easily on the zipper because there is no brake mechanism under the slider carriage. The brake mechanism is essential on clothing zippers to prevent the zipper from sliding down on its own. Free-running sliders are used on bags, backpacks, and other accessories where easy opening is important.
Can I use this slider on a clothing zipper?
No. Clothing zippers use braking sliders that only move when the brake mechanism is activated using the zipper pull. This prevents the zipper from opening on its own. Csatbolt only sells non-braking, free-running sliders, which are suitable for use on bags and other accessories.
